Almost a Spa Day

Oh, my editor has gone silly with the cut and paste. We all know, that an Airedale would never sit still for this foolishness!
We made an appointment for our beauty makeovers today.

Miss Constanza, would like to offer up a few of her own beauty tips for the Dales.
Good dental hygiene is alway important, for keeping those canines pearly white.
I love to have my teeth brushed and get really excited when the toothpaste comes out!
Don't forget the chompers in the back. No tarter build up here!
Mmmmm, Tastes like chicken.

Not to be ignored!

Everybody's just so darn busy today. Nobody will play with me. Even Stanzie is ignoring me.
I shall make my own fun. I'll rearrange all the empty plant pots!
Hey, I'm like a little flower, I need water too!
I could do this for about 30 minutes.....just to see how long I can push Dad's buttons!
Stanzie just rolls her eyes, she can't believe what a silly dog I am.
Maybe tomorrow, there will be more Airedale inspired projects in the garden.

Meet the neighbors 2

It's time to meet the neighbors again. This spring, we have some new neighbors to visit. This is 'Clem'. He's the big sheep on the block!  He's a frisky fellow and has lots of offspring!
This is 'Shorty'. He's a big boy too! We say to him "Ewe's not fat, Ewe's fluffy!" Hee Hee!
Here's some of Clem's little darlings. The twins.
We want to take them home. They have curly fur just like Airedales!
These sheep belong to our Aussie neighbor 'Fiona' and her pack.
She needs to practice her herding skills, because she is a herding athlete and that is what she and her pack do.
She's such a pretty girl and look at her go! She travels the west, bringing in the herd and collecting ribbons along the way! My kind of woman....Arf, Arf!
Wow, Fiona's pack got some new baby chickens too. What lucky dogs they are.
Well, time for dinner. This nice weather means time to dust off the barbeque.
My sister 'Stanzie' likes to supervise all things barbeque!
Oh My Dog! It's steak night, gotta go!

The first day of spring

I was listening to the radio today while gardening, the local jazz station. The announcer was trying to find a blues song that had spring in the lyrics, but to no avail. She decided that it is hard to be blue in spring. Especially the first day of spring. "Amen, to that sister!"
We sing our own songs in the garden. My personal favorite goes to the tune of "Bingo" Sing along with me.... There once was a dog and Wyatt was his name-o,   W-Y-A-T-T,  W-Y-A-T-T,  W-Y-A-T-T and Wyatt was his name-o!
Oh, it makes me laugh! My dad sings (with a fake Aussie accent)...There once was a dale and dingo was his name-o.  D-I-N-G-O,  D-I-N-G  NO!.......
Mom put up this bright orange fence. She says it's bright orange, so Airedales can see it. I say to that, "Mom, the space shuttle astronauts can see it, it's pretty bright!"  It's suppose to keep me out of the new veggie garden. This makes me laugh too, because I pushed it down with my big paws right away. Hee Hee!
To celebrate the first day of spring, we turned on the waterfall today.
Gotta go, Mom started singing again. That woman can't carry a tune in a bucket and it's hurtin' my ears!

Objects Dogue Art

The weather is right. Time to put out my favorite objects dogue art. Here is my garden gate to nowhere. It has lots of moving parts. The handle to open the gate is old gardening shears. I like to wiggle the bells and hinges. It even has some working faucets!
Here is 'Rusty Me'.
...And a 'Rusty Stanzie' too.
Now, this is my kind of plant. No water, no pruning, no fertilizer!
This one is my favorite. When the wind spins the propeller, the doggy's tail wags and his tongue goes in and out. Just like me!

Sunday chores

Hey, get out of your jammies and come outside! And by the way...the windows need to be washed.
We must put the baby seedlings outside. They need some sun.
But there is no sun today and it's kinda cold. I better pull down this flap. Grow big and strong little Tomatoes!
It's Sunday, but there is a lot to do. An Airedale's work is never done.
Gotta go dig!

Just Leave It!

One word describes my week, ICKY!  I got really sick one night this week and lost my dinner. I panted and looked so unhappy, that Mom and Dad got worried and took me to the doggie ER. We are lucky to have a 24 hour veterinary hospital only 20 minutes away.
A team of specialists and technicians went to work, checking for every possible culprit for my pukiness. I had an x-ray, an ultrasound (no obstructions, yeah!) I had bloodwork done and IV fluids given. I even got shaved in a non-Airedale way. I have one Poodle leg now!
No virus, no obstructions, no Giardia or parasites, no chemical toxins, no bad human food. Final diagnosis "He must have eaten something icky". Maybe I have sampled too much of the compost pile???

So, I'm home now and feeling much better. Just like my Sparky McFarkle self. I'm not sure what all the fuss was about and I'm really hungry!

Doctor has prescribed a bland diet of cooked chicken with rice and potatoes for a few days!
Tonight I'm having Chicken and Potatoes in my special 'Don't eat so fast' bowl.

YUM-O ! My compliments to the chef!

A word of caution to my Airedale pals, and all doggies like me, who explore the world with a vacuum cleaner mouth......My new campaign for 2010, "If it might be ICKY, be PICKY and JUST LEAVE IT!"

Happy Digging (Just don't eat it),

I glove you too!

It's a wonder we get anything done at all around here.
I steal at least one work glove a day. It just never stops being funny. Really knee slapping funny!
I either bury the gloves under the bushes, or tease Stanzie with them.
Sometimes, I can engage her in glove tug of war!
It's a good thing that we buy gloves by the case. I don't think these are Airedale tested and approved.
We are supposed to be spreading bark mulch.
My sister is a lazy princess and she does not want to help.
I, on the other paw, would like to help in a big way!
Happy Digging,
Wyatt
